Set against the Himalayas and with the immaculate Ganga flowing through it, the historic town of Rishikesh is a major tourist and pilgrimage destination in northern India, attracting visitors from all over the world in pursuit of calm. Rishikesh is commonly referred to as the ‘yoga capital of the world’ and rightly so. The location is bustling with tourists who are here to practise yoga and meditation. There are many ashrams in Rishikesh, some of which are renowned internationally as centres for philosophical research, yoga, and other traditional Indian health practices.
“Rishikesh, located in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, is where my heart resides,” says Yash Birla. He further added that he was honoured and thrilled to present his book, “Building The Perfect Body,” in front of prominent dignitaries from Uttarakhand on Friday, 2nd September 2022. The soulful connection of Yash Birla with Rishikesh began when he was a child and used to visit the place with his family. He was mesmerized by the grandiosity and the beauty of the Himalayas.
The yoga capital of the world always feels like home to him. Many people are aware of
Yash Birla’s spirituality and faith
, but they may not be aware of Yash Birla’s amour with the Himalayas. He enjoys hiking and visiting remote areas of the Himalayas that may be difficult or unfamiliar to others.
The daily life of Rishikesh is significantly influenced by two large suspension bridges, much like the nervous system in the body. Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula are the names of these two bridges (jhulas) (Named after lord Ram and his brother Lakshman, the heroes of the Ramayana, who supposedly crossed the river Ganges at Rishikesh on their way up to the hills). Near Lakshman Jhula resides Yash Birla whenever he comes to visit Rishikesh, this helps to build the soulful connection of Yash Birla with Rishikesh and make it stronger.
When Yash Birla was just a young lad of 14, he fell in love with trekking. His love of the mountains was formed by family vacations to places like Kedarnath and other similar destinations. However, he did not get the opportunity to travel across the Himalayan region until much later in his life. Yash Birla was forced to rely on the mountains for existence after the abrupt and terrible deaths of his family. He and his cousins organised a trip to Rishikesh. He was especially drawn to the area’s mystery, folklore, paranormal activity, and strange sages. Yash Birla makes sure that he visits Rishikesh every now and then and detox from the hustle and bustle of city life.
