He lost his parents and sister Sujata in a plane crash, in his early twenties, while he was pursuing Business Administration in the USA. However, not one to be drowned in grief, Mr. Yash took strength from this incident and pledged to take his father’s business to even greater heights.

From this very resolution was born the Yash Birla Group; an Indian industrial conglomerate group based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The brainchild of  Mr. Yash Birla himself, the group has diversified interests ranging from steel pipes, machinery, and cutting tools industries to electrical appliances, textiles, carpets, furnishing, lifestyle, and travel. Having truly imbibed the Birla spirit, all the undertakings of this group have earned a name for themselves and today the Yash Birla group has 10 publicly listed subsidiaries in India.
